Question AFR Heads

I was thinking in ordering a set of 227 bare AFR heads. I don't have a clue in what they flow. Anybody know what they flow and are they worth the money. Thanks.

Because of the 3/4" head deck, they are cool for boost applications. I found a site a while back where they were flowing about 300cfm out of the fully ported 195cc version of their heads. Then again, that was what the guy posted up. No chart or anything, just peak numbers. Assuming that isn't BS, I would imagine with the 227cc heads you could flow substantially more. I have a set of the 195cc AFR heads and will be putting them on in a few weeks. I would be happy to let you know what kind of gains I get.

http://www.airflowresearch.com sites pretty easy to follow, looks like depending on your setup they can flow anywhere from 295-309 cfm thats between about .600 and .700 lift. They look great for a solid roller application IMO.

Hey Elysian,

I also picked up a pair of used 195cc AFR heads, but when I got them I saw 190LT stamped on them on one of the ends. Is yours the same way?

Thanks,

Jody J.

P.S. Sorry to barge in on the post.

My heads are currently at the machine shop getting a full port job. When I get them back, I will let you know. What does stick in memory is that the ends have "AFR" engraved on them along with their little airflow logo. I honestly didn't look them over that carefully.
