How much compression does a Shim gasket add
Well as some of you know I'm about to get my short block for my car within the next couple weeks and going with an 11:! compression piston.
I've heard about head gaskets but want to know how much each one could up my compression a lil bit because Ive heard its safe to run up wards near to 12.5:1 compression on pump gas with these things.
Hear about Shim gaskets here lately from a buddy and was wondering what would be a good choice on that

I agree it's better to limit to 12:1 CR for a DD. However, I wouldn't even go that high unless the block was decked or a shim gasket used to bring the quench down to about .035".
Each .010 decrease in gasket thickness will bring the CR up by about 0.25
