2.5" or 3" True duals? And what muffler to go with....
Alright I've got a 383 stroker, CC306 cam, ported heads, ect in my 93 z28. I'm going to go with a universal X pipe kit from Summit, and do true duals dumped at the axle. My car should be making 400rwhp give or take...
Should I go 2.5" or 3"?? Would 2.5" offer any more backpressure down low compared to 3"?
And what muffler should I run? I want it to be as quiet as possible at idle and cruise while still offering good flow. I'm considering at some Hooker Max Flow's right now.... I'm trying to keep it in the 50-75$ each price range. The most important thing is just to quiet it down without hurting performance too much.
Any ideas?

2.5" will be quieter, have better ground clearance, and be adequate for your power levels. I had 2.5" duals and my friends with 3" duals was noticeably louder. the only benefit to a 3" would be more room for growth as the .5" larger piping has more ability to flow.
personally I think 2.5" also has a better tone, but that is IMO.

i think moroso spiral flows would be fairly quiet, nothing like a magnaflow catback, but for duals they are supposed to be the quietest.....and they'll give you decent ground clearance too.....personally i will never run anything but sweet thunders on an LS car, they sound amazing

I dont think the hookers will be all that quiet. Id go 2.5 and go with the magnaflow bullets(some for sale on here) or with the borlas but that gets pricier.
