Default Vic E with elbow and WS6 hood

I searched and search but cant find a definitive answer, Will a Vic E with an Elbow work under a WS6 hood, if not (which im suspecting) do any of the available aftermarket hoods work?

I think Summit Racing carries it it's the Victor EFI intake I don't have the box in front of me (it's at the machine shop} so I don't have the pn. also Prfessional Products make a Hurricane EFI intake as well.

I don't think it will fit under the factory ram air hood but I have a VFN 4" hood which looks badazz and you won't have to worry about any problems with hood interference. Later

It clears the hood with lots of room. Here is a pic with the Vic E and Edelbrock low profile elbow. On a 1996 WS6. There is almost 1/2" from it to the cowl.

Its an SBC intake, will not fit lt1/4 heads. You need to have your heads drilled for the sbc pattern, or have the manifold converted. The Vic E is the same thing as a Vic Jr. except it is ready for fuel rails and injectors etc.

Manifold- http://www.summitracing.com/parts/EDL-29785/
Elbow- http://nitrousoutlet.com/catalog/cat...37&section=143

See how that works? Its a very nice setup, but not necassary at all unless your going with big boost (like me) or huge N/A cubes with montrous heads!

They make more then one elbow, and it is the very low profile ones which place the TB below the intake flange that are the real poor flowing ones...but he is boosted so that is not nearly as big a deal for him as an NA car that has to fight to breathe passed the turn in the elbow.

ya that makes sense, after 90* it must become a problem. Ill be running a
76mm turbo with this so I guess it doesnt matter. I love the look of those nitrousoutlet elbows, they look to be very well made.

Yea they are very well made with quality welds all around. I sold a double welded boost one a while back for dirt cheap since I have a 3" cowl hood and don't mind cutting the plastic cowl a bit to fit a taller one...if you will be pushing a lot of boost that is the one I would recommend. Its more expensive, but welded on both sides.

Vic E with Nitrous Outlet (860 Performance) elbow. I'm using a LPE C6 air filter, LPE 100mm MAF and 4" pipe to an AS&M monoblade TB. This is under a Suncoast Raptor hood. The pipe rubs a little but the elbow has plenty of room.

This is the part # #38483 from edelbrock. This is low profile, which is the middle one they sell.

This one holds a 90mm opening all the way through it. I have seen a improved throttle response from switching from a ported LT1 to a Ported Vic with this elbow and a 90mm TB.

I had the heads redrilled by TEA when I did this mod.
