help me pick gear / tire
M6 car
Right now its btw
4.10s wit a 27" slick
Or
4.30s with a 28"
Which will work best at the track? I don't want a big tire eating up power down the track.
I've been using the gears calculator and both of these combos will let me trap 125 with a 6500 redline.
Which will ultimately be better?
Need to decide so I can order my rear tomorrw.
GRENADED my 10 bolt today.

its just me but I would allways go with the taller tire especially if the MPH is going to come out the same, there may be days the shorter tire just can't grip as good.

Good choice. If I buy new, it will be a strange s60. You mind sharing where you got it, what options and how much it ran? You can take it to PM if you would like.
I know a guy who runs that tire and cuts 1.30's all day. That is a turbo car though. They seem to like being hit hard out the hole. Shoot all you got, lol.

i have seen 1 6spd camaro with stock gears and suspension run that tire and hook well. they fit great without any need for clearancing (on prostars).

Just about anyone can hook on a bias ply tire...
I don't see there being an issue with the radial, although it can be finicky to dial in. From what I have seen, they like to be hit HARD. I have seen cars(M6) that will have some tire spin on motor, but dead hook once you throw some more hp at it. A progressive controller might be a good idea if you plan to shoot every time out.

I would go with either M/T 28x10.5 Siff sidewall or the 28x11.5" Et street and not the radial for a M6. Then once you get the car hooking and the suspension working well you could swap to radials. JMO Later Clint

woah woah woah hold the phone greg..............you can get 4.30's for the S60 now!!!!??? I need them im gonna be comming through at like 8500 this year if i keep the 4.56's.....
oh and yea btw id go with the 28 with the higher gear.......you get better leverage down in first gear that way when ur launching the car plus you get a bigger footprint on the ground cause of the added circumeference.......but on the high end its the same minus the little bit of added weight but go as narrow as you possibly can and still hook.......the less the better no need to carry extra tire its just a good way to slow yourself down.......im still standing mine up an a 10 inch treadwidth
