Default rod bolt upgrade

i know this might sound stupid, but to upgrade the rod bolts found in most eagle rotating assemplies to L19 rod bolts, what do i have to do? is it a different thread size/bolt diameter, or just remove the old ones and put in the new ones?

I'd imagine that most aftermarket quality rod bolts would come with 7/16" bolts.

Stock rods need to be resized in order to run larger bolts.

Why are you wanting to upgrade the already good 8740 rods bolts? most rod caps will give before you break the 8740's.

just figure if im gonna put them in i may as well go ahead and upgrade. got a good deal on a set of used H beam rods and since i want to turn high RPMs and use spray id feel better have the L19 rod bolts. and so far no one has really answered my question so i guess ill just have to call eagle.

my machinist only uses 8740 in his 8000 rpm dirt track motor. These engines hold 6000-8000 rpms the entire time. If 8740 can hold this then they will work just fine. L19's are also VERY sensitive to moisture. If your motor isn't going to be torn down very often then I wouldn't use the L19 bolts. IMO

If you change the bolts to arp2000 or the l19 you will need to resize the big end of the rod.
