Default oil pump ? and pick up ?

My old set-up i ran a stock volume melling m155 oil pump with a canton pick-up. My new set-up im going to run a melling m99hvp pump and i noticed when i went to take the pickup off the old pump(m155) that the bolt on the new pump(m99hvp) was in a diffrent location. Is this going to be an issue? will i need a diffrent pickup from canton for the new pump? is there anyway to make this work by cutting the bracket and just Tig it o the pump without the bolt?

Please keep the comments about my pump choice to yourself, i know the pros and cons already. I want to know about the pick-up thats it!

You have to make sure You have the correct gap pan to pickup clearance on what ever pick up you use. That said you should always have the pickup tube brazzed to the pump. If it's brazzed and the hight is correct and the pickup can supply the pump with enough oil then the bolts are a non issue.

Oh and about the pump choice you should make sure you talk to some LT1 guys about what pump drive gear to use so you don't have an issue with it shearing.

I think im going to try the pick up that came with the pump and see if that works. The location of the pick up hole is on a completely diffrent side of this new pump, and the bracket for the canton pick up looks like its going to hit. So im going to sell the m155 and canton pick up and buy whatever i need. I always tig the pick up to the pump once its in the correct lcation.

I use to live in holiday off allandale dr a few years back.... now live in the burg off 66th

Is anyone running a m99 with a canton pan? what pick up you running if you are? I also noticed that when i was running the m55 pump with the canton pick up that the pickup was preventing the trap door from opening up all the way, is that normal?

i found out that you can not run a big block pump with a canton pan. So i ended up modding my m55 pump with a new spring to make it a high pressure pump so i could run my canton road race pan.
