Default Swap into 84 Chevy 4x4 ?'s

I have recently acquired a 1984 3/4 ton Chevy 4x4 and all it needs is a good engine. And since I have a couple extra LT1's laying around, I figured I would throw one in there. The truck has a good transmission (350) and transfer case already, and I have already started working on the fuel system. I already have the extra ecm (A4) and wiring harness but My question is, what all will I need to do to get it to work with the 4x4 ?

I am not going to do much to this engine, probably Just leave it stock with standard bolt ons.

Ok, well ill be the first one to admit, I know nothing about programming or these computers. Will I need a signal from the transmission? And will a tuner be able to take out the stock transmission settings?

What year are the harness and ecu?
It will run the engine fine even if it throws every trans code there is.

I have 3 computers, harnesses, accessory brackets etc.: one from a 95 z28 A4, one from a 94 9C1 Caprice A4, and one from a 94 Buick Roadmaster A4.

A tuner will be able to reprogram it to disable Trans control. Basically making it an m6 pcm. Other than that and the vats crap it should be pretty much plug & play! Just don't get that opti wet if you plan on using that 4x4 in the mud or something wet!

Thanks for the help guys!

And N.O.LT1...I have a full set of mechanical Autometer gauges for temp, oil pressure, voltage, Tach and the speedometer is still cable driven off the transmission.
