Default 94 t/a gt trans. perfomance button pcm question

i have a 94 trans am gt with the transmission performance button im putting back together and the car didnt come with the stock pcm. so im wondering if i use a pcm out of another 94 lt1 car will the trans. performance buttom work ? is it programmed in the pcm ? so if i get a pcm without this option will the trans. perf. button work??

thanks

Whats a trans am GT?

The pcm should work as longs as its from a 94 and auto.

It may not be pre-programmed though.

Just have it flashed with a 94 Program same rear gears and tranny, not all years had performance mode.

Some programs I have looked at have the feild in the program but the graph is identical to the in Drive position graph.

its an option they had in 94. most of the trans am gts came with low rise spoiler, wider tires and transmission performance button which made the car shift at higher rpm.

94 and 95 PCMs only have the performance shift tables (even Camaros can use it if you add a button).

thats what i thought but thats not true. earlier gt's came with low rise like the one i have. half way thru the production gts came with high rise, than in 95 it was standard on all trans ams to have a high rise spoiler

GT just meant it is basically a fully loaded trans am with rear spoiler, lower gears (automatic), leather, etc.

performance shift mode just means it shifts a little higher and a little firmer IIRC. I doubt my tables are any different than the non-performance shift mode now anyways

My 97 had the performance shift tables in the pcm. Just didnt have the button. We set it so its running on it all the time now. its a slight difference in the shifts. a tiny bit faster shifts and firmer but not much. felt a little cleaner.

mid 13's stock isnt gonna happen with a stock auto LT1.

good to know, makes me wonder if my old 97 t/a had that. i remember out of nowhere the car would shift firmer and at higher rpms and other times it wouldnt do it. found it kind of weird

ya it will be hard with a a4 to run that time bone stock . i got a muffler and cold air intake for the car so car isnt going to be bone stock when ill take it to the track. hopefully its close to mid 13s with just those 2 bolt ons and drag radials

that what i thought car had to have some weigh reduction to do that time stock. most of the lt1s i seen hit mid 13s stock or semi-stock were usually stripper car with no options from factory or 1le.

From what I've read the 94 GT package includes:

155mph speedo (not the 120 found in the '94 non-GT models)
Z rated tires
No top speed limiter
High Rise Spoiler
All the options leather, t tops, 3.23 gears, performance button in A4's

Never heard of a TA GT without the highrise spoiler...odd

Really, didnt know a stock f-body came with slicks and a "few" pounds of weight reduction from the factory. Plus were talking autos, not manuals.

Its not stock if you ran with slicks with however many LBS of weight loss, just sayin.
