as far as welding in a cutout, anything from 2.5inches-3 inches will fit in just fine. I have a 3" muffler and a 3" cutout in my I-pipe, which I believe is 2.75 inches before the muffler, 2.5 after the muffler(tailpipes)

unless the stock lt1 exhaust is different than the ws6...mine was 2.75 post cat also..i would go with 3" cutout but an easy way to measure your exhaust if you dont have calipers is take a piece of string and wrap it around your exhaust and mark where it overlaps...then just do some simple math and you can figure out the diameter

WS6 got the same exhaust as any other LT1 Formula or Trans Am. Only the tips were different.

I'm not positive if it was the Firehawks only, or the ws6's as well, but I believe a 3" catback was offered on some SLP Firebirds like they were on the Camaro SS's as an option SLP dual/dual setup IIRC

Only the Firehawk and SS could get the optional 2OTL or dual/dual(97). SLP WS6's only came with the stock exhaust.
