Default Maybe buying a procharged ta, need advice/opinions

It is a 1993 trans am with 70k miles, it has been owned by a 40 year old master tech since '94. He did the below mods 1,000 miles ago, and he really doesn't drive it like what it is. The paint is not great, a lot of scratches.

He is asking $6k.

I would be using this as a daily driver (60 miles/week). I need it to be pretty reliable, however I realize it is old and will need some things.

ATI Intercooled Procharger (w/external fuel pump), extra pulleys (he has kept it at 5psi)

42 pd. Injectors (Ford-green)

BBK 58 mm throttle body (ported intake, only at throttle body) and Air foil.

1.6 ratio roller rockers and Corvette valve covers

RK Sport Ceramic/Jet Hot Headers

Innovate Wideband Oxygen Sensor

High flow cat with Dynomax converter back system

AEI-fuel pressure regulator

Bosch platinum +4 plugs

MSD-6A ignition box, coil, wires

3.73 gear ratio

Hypertech 160' thermostat

Eibach Sportline lowering springs

17” Corvette Chrome Rims

J & M-rear control arms

B&M Short Shifter Handle

Prom custom tuned by T.P.I.S.

GM Aluminum driveshaft and protection “loop”

Stage 3 Spec clutch and Fidanza lightweight flywheel

J & M-Bay brace and rear control arms

It also has an external fuel pump and an FMU.. Is all this necessary? I thought 42# injectors and the fuel pump would be enough.

Also it has not been dyno tuned, but that is something I would have done. Is it easy enough to find someone who can do obd I?

Thanks

what size procharger is it?

can't have a bbk 58mm and an air foil

honestly a supercharged car someone else modded and is selling shortly after putting a bunch mods on it doesn't exactly sound like a great idea for reliable transportation. FMU and an external pump sound like someone was trying to band-aid a fueling issue or just had big goals.

problem with finding a local tuner for that car is LT1 tuners can be hard enough to come by, let alone one that burns chips.

I wouldnt trust it to be my only vehicle, but I think the price is right.

Ive had bad experiences buying a modded car before, just seemed like everything was rigged up and half done. That car may not be the same but the newest one Ive bought was bone stock, and Im gonna do everything my way.

He has kids and his wife told him to get rid of it He also said he'd like my car but can't trade.

Im not sure which procharger it is.

The reason I like it is because i would not want a stock lt1, and it is cheaper, lower mileage, and more fun than a ls1 car .

It hasn't been beaten on so I don't see why it wouldn't be reliable.

Thanks.

I don't know if I would by a car with those mods. Its funny that he wants to sale it after putting all of those mods into it; I usually go by if the price is too good then most likely something is wrong, unless you really know the guy and have been in the car every time he has driven it you really don't know how the car was driven.

First off is that I hope it was tuned after those mods. Secondly is that the FMU and inline pump is necessary for the supercharger install and that the stock pump may not produce the constant 14v. SO thats why its needed and adds more fuel to the engine when more power is made. I hope it was atleast tuned otherwise that engine will be a lil jacked up. Cylinder washdown for sure and with the rest of the mods im sure it looks great

It hasn't been dyno tuned but he told me it shouldn't be a problem due to the wideband o2.

"Prom custom tuned by T.P.I.S."

Would you recommend this car or a stockish ls1 with ~100k miles?
