Pick a cam smaller than the cc306 or go custom. LE or AI can grind you a custom cam better suited for your setup. Use the search funtion...there's tons of threads here with all the info you need.

THE COMP 306 IS AN ISSUE ALL THE TIME ON HERE.... people love it or hate it..and people who hate it never ran it and go by what everyone else writes on these forums.

i absolutely loved the cc306. i had stock block, a4 with 3600 stall, 3.73's and full exhaust and a great tune and it was awesome. it pulled all the way to the top and wanted to go some more. dont go off by comps reading of 5500-6000 or whatever they listed it at. this cam will go past that so make sure your valve train is updated as well. yes it will benifit alot better with a bigger cubed lt1 but yes you can run it and enjoy the car as well on stock block just have other parts to accomodate it. you need a stall of atleast 3200 minumum and 3.73's... its an old technology cam but still freakin works.

custom cam is the way to go always but for a stock block car with bolt ons off shelf cams are fine. i dunno what it is with people bashing the cc306, like i said thehy probably never ran it.

I have the 306 cam and it runs great for me, but if you don't have the supporting mods to work with that cam your wasting your time!

the cc306 is a good cam, but is ideal for a car with ported heads. there are other grinds out there that will get you similar peak power gains with beater average power, streetability, and less required convertor/gear for optimal performance.

the cc306 is a proven performer with ported heads and even stock heads, but it isn't the end all or best choice IMO.
