Default My '96 LT1 T/A build

I have a 1996 Trans Am Ive kept bone stock for 7 years. Its time to build so I have looked around the forums and decided on a build with much consideration and research. so here it goes.

I plan to keep the stock bottom end in the engine so I talked to Lloyd Elliot about a top end that would allow the max power without trashing the bottom end and still run low 12s most likely 11s.

He suggested:
LE1 Heads
226/232 570L @ 110lsa
ported to match intake

to go with this:
30# SVO injectors
58mm TB
1.6 RR
cold air
Longtubes with Y straight to muffler and dump
hotchkis boxed lcas
bmr solid panhard
drag radials
and bmr strut tower brace

and eventually for the A4 trans and rear:
3200-3600stall vig converter
410 gears

also doing a hell of a weight reduction
full ac delete keeping heat
radio and all that goes with(wires, speakers, ect.)
all ac venting other than defrost
pass. air bag and all that goes
driver seat is being replaced with actual racing seat(not those tuner pos seats from pep boys lol)
spare tire and accessories

and obviously a good tune

let me know what you think and what kind of power and times I may expect.
Thanks,
chris

360-380 horsepower and I think 11s are possible with all that weight reduction. I can't say an exact time though.

if you're looking strictly for straightline performance, panhard bar and strut tower brace won't do much for it.

this is pretty close to Lloyd Elliots estimate(380+rwhp) so Im good with that. Of course it will be lighter at the track all but driver seat will be removed including car seats LOL.

Got my crane 1.6 full rollers bolted on today still dont have my new heads yet but may be going a different route with that. Found a good deal on some ported heads. If I get them I will be researching a good cam to match. the heads have 2.02/1.60 valves with patriot gold springs and flows at 228/196 @.550. any cam Ideas? I dont mind shifting between 6200-6400 rpms.

380 shouldn't be a problem. I did that with a smaller cam and an older version of LE2 heads.
The car ran 11.89 with minimal weight reduction (jack, spare, rear seat, front swaybar),
a 275lbs driver, 4000 stall, QA1 shocks/springs and DRs/Skinnies.

Don't forget a torque arm and rear sway/drag bar.
