software is a bit pricey for the 96-97's as well as the interface. As far as I know the only way to do it is through the software via the pcm. Never did find another way so I just did a 95 obd 1 conversion since I had a 95 pcm laying around and if you want TSS datamaster it's like 100 but you can use up to 20 free data logs before having to buy and then the cable and ALDL box from Moates.net is 80 and of course the 95 knock sensor is 35 and the cost of the pcm and tune. May end up in a wash if you don't have the parts already V's the obd 2 software and cable. I think I saw a couple of scanners that had the ability to look at knock but they where pricey as well.

So I know that I can buy a scanner to do it. I have a Jet DST to tune but that doesn't give me crap for real time readings. I would like to know more about how to log into the stock one. When I had a 1987 Buick GN I purchased one that spliced into the stock and gave me a gauge in the cockpit. Is there somthing out there like that for the Camaro? Any ideas on fuel air ratio gauges?

i have read in 3rd gen forums that wired up an LED to the knock module so it would illuminate when the knock is being detected. never got around to figuring out if this can be done in an LT1 pcm.
