Have you made any changes lately? (poly trans mount, new flexplate, new stall?).
A heavy vibration could be caused by a broken motor (or trans) mount or something out of balance.
It could also be caused by something as simple as a burnt/crossed plug wire.

i just installed a new trans and stall. i just dook it down the road and it stopped all together. maybe that balanced it out.

You might want to make sure the converter is bolted up properly.
If it popped into place while you were driving, those nuts need to be tightened.

Sometimes new converters chatter when TCC lockup engages.
This usually wears off within a few days. I've had a few that were so bad I had to disable TCC lockup alltogether.

Adjusting shift points using the VC is not a good idea.

The 4L60 (non e) uses weights and springs in the governor to adjust shift points.
I have a thread here somewhere from my adventure, I'll see if i can find it.
I ended up using weights 4 and 5 with springs one step firmer from stock.

Here's the note I had in my build thread;
Quick review for those who want to set shift points in a 700R4/Th400/Th350
Weights are numbered 1-6, 6 being the lightest (highest shift point)
A combination of weights 4 and 5 produce a 6375RPM shift for me (Similar results in other cars I've done)

Springs are colored in a rainbow pattern (Purple, Red, Orange, Yellow, Green, Blue, Black)
Purple being the lightest, Black being the firmest.
Firmer springs produce longer, soggy shifts. (no idea why anyone would want that)
Stock springs appear to be the equiv to Orange and Green.

Weight 1 15g
Weight 2 12g
Weight 3 10g
Weight 4 8g
Weight 5 6g
Weight 6 5g

so
8g+6g = 14g (6375 shift)
6g+5g = 11g (>7000 shift)
8g+5g = 13g (>7000 shift)

Also: don't lose the stupid e-clips; they're impossible to find on short notice (and with poor eyesight)
I bought a whole box when I finally found them, they're in my toolbox just in case.
Here's a pic of the governor recalibration kit I used (or rather, the parts I had left over when I was done)

okay i thought it was gone but it isnt. when in gear it does this vibrating/surge thing until i tap the gas. and then i feel it right after it shifts into 4th. and it does it when crusing and i start to accelerate. im thinking drive shaft or something.

Hold the brake in lightly while cruising and tell me if it goes away.
It sounds like it's a chattery lockup. (I mentioned that in a previous post)

Another indicator is that it will occur at a very specific speed (I think 45mph was the default under light
throttle and 70 at WOT; but that could be altered in your tune)

Are you sure it is not an ignition miss? A miss is more easily felt under load (especially in higher gears).

ok i just checked i dont think it has a miss. But i put the car in reverse and popped the hood (with e brake on). and it started vibrating like it was. when i popped the hood the the alternator was vibrating and i looked under and so was the tensioner. and one of them were making the noise i was hearing.
