Default Oil pressure dropping to 0 on hard turns

Any suggestions as to what the problem might be? The oil level is 6 quarts. Every time I take a hard turn the oil pressure drops to about 20lbs, or if I take a really, really hard turn to the point where all 4 tires are screeching and sliding, the oil psi goes to 0 and remains there for about 2 seconds after straightening out. Not good when you are at 3000 rpm's. I have the Canton 242-T pan/pickup & a Melling 10554 with the pickup bolted on. Is it possible the pickup fell off?

Does it also do it when you brake hard?

With the way you drive Steve I wouldn't be surprised. Take a rubber mallet to the pan and rap on it - you should/shouldn't be able to hear it bouncing around.

Really sounds like the pickup has fallen off. I know you said it was bolted on but you better check.

the bolt could havebacked out, then the pick up would be soon to follow. The canton pick up is a tight fit inside the pan but can fall off if the bolt backs out. I also think the pick up may have fallen off.

Only good way to keep a pickup on a pump is to tack weld it.
