Default Spark problem

I could use some insight on this problem. I just put all new plugs and wires on my 96 Z28 after having alot of missing and severe hesitation all across the rpms. Now it acts like it wants to go but still have a ton of hesitation and missing out. Is it the dreaded Opti or something else?

Any backfiring? Possible crossed wires and/or cracked porcelain on the plugs.

The backfiring was minimal. Only when its up to temp. It was misfiring before as well.

It started about 200 miles after a new set of plugs. I had E3 plugs and afterwards heard they weren't very good. So I did all new plugs and wires and there is no change in how it runs

It has $8 NGK's and I was hoping it would solve the problem. I'm trying not to admit that it might be the Opti. But, it is seriously leaning in that direction!

I have not. I'm just compiling a list of ideas on what it might be.
