Default Advice need on cam

I'm building a 388 stroker for my camaro and have kind of got stumped with the cam choice. It's .40 with flat top pistons around 11.5:1 i am using the stock heads that have been ported as well as the matched stock intake and 1.6 rr's. Its an auto with 3200 converter and 3.42 gears as well as full bolt-ons. The bottom end itsn't foreged so i won't be revving the car to high maybe 6500 or so? Also the set-up is going to be all motor just something to play around in the street but i also want to make good power. Any input will be greatly appreciated

Who did the heads?
My guess is that they'll know what type of cam the ported them for.
11.5:1 should give you a lot of options when it comes to cam selection.
How confident are you about that measurement?

What worries me here is the cast crank, I'd hate to see you break it.
At the same time, having to rebuild it over again sucks too, but at least you won't ruin any other parts.
With a mild cam, you'd probably be just fine and have a fun 420rwhp street toy.

you should be in the 230/240 range on a 107, with the little info you've given.

Yup, might as well start planning for the next build if it's an eagle.

Do a search. You'll see. And it's not always people overpowering them either. They have broken in low RPM/low HP situations.

i run an eagle 383 kit in my 82 chevy pickup granted i only have probably 5000 miles on it and only spin to about 4500 it seems to be doing fine i have heard some horror stories but as long as your not spinnin the **** out of it and take care of the car you will will be fine. the shop that does my machine work says hes built lots of motors with eagle cast stuff and only had one bomb due to high rpms
