Default volant air box on lt1 with Vfn trans am hood ?

hey guys i was wondering if any one has tryed to put the Volant air box on a lt1 trans am with a vfn hood. the reason i ask i my hood is on its way and i want to use the ram air and this box looks to be perfect but im not sure if it will work or not. I am a mechanic by trade and am very mechanically inclinded so i am not afriad to tweek something if it does not fit just right. here is a link to the box that i am refering to

It should "work", but there is little to no chance that it will seal up to the hood. I would say your best bet would be to make a custom box similar to the volant or do a LS1 lid swap.

Well at least I know it will fit under the hood.

I just put my hood on last weekend and was considering that Volant intake, but I think I will be better off just to make one that contours the hood and seals up. I PM'd one guy about it and he said that he had the Volant intake with that hood, and it for sure fits under the hood, but he was going to have to add material to get it to touch/seal up. If I ever get around to doing what I want to do I will post up pictures.

cool please post of some pics if you ever get it done. did you get the pin on bolt on hood?
