Looks nice! You've had to add a crankshaft reluctor and sensor?

i think this is the vortech truck setup no? so you can use the 4x 96 signal and the 1x from the dizzy you put on? assuming you are blocking the opti with one of the covers that gm sells.

do share.

"trilkb cool man, well done...reminds me a bit of my old trans am GTA"

actually it is a '96 WS6 Ram Air Bird long block

"96TransAmboosted i like the work. Did you buy or make the front cover for where the opti WAS "

well It is the stock cover with a 2.88" Dorman freeze plug fits perfectly with about 0.02 interference, and ultra silicone.

"Paul Bell Looks nice! You've had to add a crankshaft reluctor and sensor?"

'96 Already had the 4X reluctor

robsquikz28 your running a 96 timing cover with the crank sensor correct? yes sir "stock"

merim123 i think this is the vortech truck setup no? so you can use the 4x 96 signal and the 1x from the dizzy you put on? assuming you are blocking the opti with one of the covers that gm sells.

GM has a cover set up like this??? the distributor is a Vortec unit, basically everything except the long block and the ECU is Vortec, ECU is LS series
I could run coil per cylinder if i wanted but I have made enough mods already. and see prior comment on the cover

I did have a Tuned port motor in the truck, got about 500 miles on a $2300 motor when the water pump failed, and fried it all.

go here to see it

hopefully will get more out of this one

Sounds like a good idea Tinbender. I was thrown by the "LS" when you said "this is going to be ran by a '411 LS ECU..."

I thought you were using a LS1 style PCM.

EXACTLY what I am doing, it has been programed for my setup, the '411 is so versital, if you can get the sensors on it, you can program the 411 to run it, way cool man!!!

heck man we could put one on your monty and run FI

Keep in mind, for you f body guys, If you want to run a dizzy in the traditional gm location, check wiper cowl clearances. It's extremely close there.

I will start on the step by step after my surgery, on 4/29/11, I will be tied to the easy chair for 6 weeks, and will need something to do. I will get everything documented including the wiring and ECU programming. Cool???

with pictures ??? hopefully ??

this Is the Cheapest and most logical way to setup an LT motor, as far as I have found. the 24X system Is way cool but $$$$$, and the resolution difference between the 24X and the Vortec is negligible unless you are running quarter mile traps. someone straighten me out if I am wrong, but I believe that the 24X uses the LS1 type ECU, like my system uses? and the man that did my initial ECU program has made several of them for the LT's

My surgery was Wednesday. My 95 is scattered all over the garage and I can't walk 10 feet! I expected at least to be able to move

Good luck,

Al
