Default What is this part?

From my research, this is on 93-97 F-Bodies.

How does this part attach? Does it provide a jacking point to avoid crushing the fender mounting lip? What is it made of? Some other guy on LS1tech called it "fender/pinchweld protectors." GM called it 10232376. Long dead.

Yeah, it is some sort of composite material that is the lift point for that area of the car. IIRC is has two screws that go vertically into the chassis.

The part on the fender lip that says "don't jack here" means not to be an idiot and jack on the lip of the fender. Use the block behind it.

YAY. Another part I shoulda snatched off the '94 before it was crushed. (Like the perfect condition side view mirrors-DOH!)

I think I remember seeing these under it. Never thought about it on the '99.

Now I want them back!

I'm pretty sure I used these as a jacking point without issue. Maybe if they become brittle, they'll break. I know I've jacked the car and settled it onto jackstands on these pads.

Thanks for the info boys!

I lift it by the subframe and by where the rear control arms attach to the frame in the back, that ok?
I didnt know a thing about those plastic things but people in my shop were telling me to lift it there and all I thought was "No, its plastic"
