LT1-LT4 Modifications 1993-97 Gen II Small Block V8

Anybody pull this off before....Whoopss!!!!!

Default Anybody pull this off before....Whoopss!!!!!

Apparently I had a couple of shaft bolts back out on my jesel setup.......the result was snapping a tool steel rocker shaft clean in half........luckily it was at low rpm and i shut it down before it created any other damage to the motor........

That sucks..... No pushrod damage from this? or valve stem

nope thats the upside to running a 1piece 3/8" tool steel pushrod i guess lol...........it happened at low rpm and i shut it down within about 5 seconds of hearing it...........luckily nothing got damaged, the valves/mounts/pushrods look fine

wow that was nice i guess, other than the shafts them selfs snapping. Were you launching the car harder than you normally do. or was this just a fluke

nope just a fluke like i said either i didn't tighten them or they backed off for some reason........thats what caused it to break........im gonna pull all of them clean everything and locktite them in now.....

I had that happen to me once, when I first installed the shafts, I tried removing and installing the shafts w/o undoing the lash, it worked but had one shaft break similar to yours. I had my local machinist just make me a new one with the same material, never had a problem after. Later Clint

yea that makes sense......i just ordered a replacement from jesel $20 nice and cheap lol

Wow that sucks! Good thing there was no other damage though. I'll be makin damn sure I locktite my shafts down!

Yea anything can, I was looking at a Crower lightweight crank get its *** kicked by a blower today.
