95 LT1 runs rough, backfires WOT
I have a 95 Z28 A4. Rebuilt motor >4K miles. New opti, cap, rotor, plugs, wires with rebuild. Car had a steam return line leak at the throttle body and the front of the motor got pretty wet. Before I do ANOTHER opti job, id like to get some opinions. The conditions are as follows:
Cranks long before starting
Feels as if missing
Backfires under heavy acceleration(exhaust)
hesitates while cranking
Does this sound like a cut-and-dry (or wet) opti failure? Its the autozone one (OEM) with lifetime guarantee. Wish i would have sprung for the MSD. The wires are routed carefully and there is no burns to the exhaust. Coil and ICM are stock.
What worries me the most is that it stops completely for a split second during cranking. it runs as if the timing is off to one extreme.
Any ideas? Thanks.

Yea I do have a SES light, havent retrieved the codes yet this time. Going to do an opti and plug wires today and get the icm and coil tested. Frustrating... Thanks for your input.
