pm sent. aside from robsquikz28's obvious bias lol (no pun intended), is the comp replacement as good or better than the gm replacement? and its the 3307 chain correct?

My LT4 ED chain had that much slack in it with 30k on it and I threw it back in with the latest h/c install without any issues. LT1 chains run loose for some reason.

Look at the crank sprocket, it's probably worn too.

How is the press fit on your harmonic balancer? Is it too loose?

Looks normal. If anyone uses the LT4 ED chain and wants no play the oversized crank sprocket is a must (if it's still being produced).

I thought it looked rather normal too for a stock timing set.

I installed a LT4 ED timing set and the chain was rather tight when it went on. I replaced the cam a year later and was amazed how much it did loosen up. Maybe half of whats in the video but I am gonna assume its normal.

that has as much play as my new one...

anyone care to show how much play its "supposed" to have since you first few guys are saying to replace it? because if mine was any tighter, i wouldnt be able to get the chain and sprocket on at all..

LT1 timing chains run a surprising amount of play even new. My stock COMP replacement was about the same.
