Whats the fastest "TRUE" LT1 out there
Was on another site doing some reading and all the Big guns running 8's and such but everyone seems to have a "Single Plane" and run a different computer and such these are still LT1's no disrespect to them guys because what they are doing is truly amazing but I was wondering
Whats the Fastest LT1 with the Stock style manifold stock PCM and of course the OPTI
I'm pursuing a career in the USAF and my hobby and my goal is to try to build one of the fastest LT1's with the stock style PCM,Intake,Computer, Opti this is countless years down the road but was just something I'd figure I'd post here and see what kind of feed back

There is a full weight Impala that runs somewhere in the low 9s with a stock type intake, OBD2 pcm, AC, ABS, 4L60E, opti, 8.5" 10-bolt, aftermarket LT heads, BUT has a one off Donovan aluminum block. I know this is not quite the spirit of what you wanted but the block is the only disqualifier. He even had a mechanical WP on it but the rate of acceleration of the pump was twisting off impellers so he went to an electric.
Is boost with a little juice to cool it and is pump gas. Last I heard the stock brakes were only lasting a couple of passes because they didn't like slowing somewhere up around 4400lbs from nearly 160mph. He has to launch soft to keep the pinion alive which is why it is only running low 9s with that mph.

Hrmm, I can think of some really fast cars that fit most of the criteria, but then they blow it with 1 violation. Rick Abare went mid/high 9's with a stock looking motor but i'm pretty sure he was running aftermarket efi setup. Ben Moore was running an opti, stock pcm, but he had a single plane. I was gonna say some of the Super Stock guys, but none that I know of run a factory pcm. They all run BigStuff 3 or whatever.
