Default lt1 rotating assembly question

k i just tore down my 95 lt1 because i found about a gallon of water in the oil pan. well i now have to have the block and heads checked to make sure they are reusable.

my question is (since i cannot get a straight answer) my rods and crank are 040 bearings. how far can a crank be turned?

Ive seen .090 over but not on an LT1. .040 is probably where I would stop, get a good one that just needs .010

I have a stock std/std crank for sale hopefully the engine will be coming out this weekend weather permitting, email me at z24.turbo@gmail.com if interested.
However it's a perfect opportunity to build a stroker if you have the budget for it.

Whats funny is a 305 crank is closer in weight to the LT1 because of the light pistons.

Yes 305 and 350 are same stroke. I have a factory LT4 crank and when you look up the casting it comes up as a 305 crank. Its stock size, for sale if you want it. I would take $50 for it.

i was under the understanding that the lt1 crank was stronger than the first gen sbc cranks. I have to check some things first to make sure i have money to do something. (not allowed to work with still being in high school) and i would love to build a stroker assembly but i do not thank i have the money to have the block checked lined honed, new rod bolts, having the block machined and buying the crank.

thanks for the help
