Default heater core hozes

so the hose going from the water pump to the heater core on my '93 formula went and I can't figure out how to disconnect the SOB from the heater core pipe. they have these metal crimps on them and I can't seem to disconnect it. It's the lower hose so I can't really see whats going on where the pipe connects to the tube. any suggestions?

I had to buy a whole new assembly from GM for my 93. And after you take the clamps off, just cut the hose down the middle if it's stuck. DO NOT pull on it or you could damage your heater core. I had to cut my hose off cause it was stuck. I don't think aftermarket makes it and GM can't give you seperate pieces of the hose to fix it anymore, you have to buy the whole assembly.

I'm confused how to take the clip off. it doesn't look like a clip it looks like a crimp of some sort. how do you get it off?

No, the lines that run to the water pump and heater core. I had a hole in one of them and had to put the complete hose assembly in the car cause it's not seperate.

Wait wait...don't touch the crimped fitting, the hose that's crimped to the aluminum pipe is attached to the heater core using a clamp. get a pair of pliers and squeeze it and pull it off. It's the same type of clamp that is used on the rest of the coolant hoses.

I purchased the new complete assembly and then after looking at it realized I just wasted a bunch of money... If you take something and grind or cut a line from top to bottom of the crimp you will be able to pull it off then twist the hose and pull to remove then you will have a bib exposed and use regular hose clamps. If you choose to replace it like I did go to shbox and look for the dealership for parts and buy it there it is less expensive there even with the shipping.

Where exactly is it leaking? Mine leaked right after that T with the throttle body line attached and bleeder screw, right between the T and where it met the water pump by the throttle body. I just went to the hardware store and bought hose and clamps, cut the worn down part off, ghetto rigged the bitch to work. And it doesn't look bad at all. Real easy... Couple bucks. If you want I can run out and take a quick picture..

I saw how much the new hoses were and all that and decided to save money.

so the hole in the hose was pretty close to the water pump. I ended up just cutting that section of tubing off and using the original shortened tube. It took a while to figure out and I felt very stupid when I finally did. Luckily the tube still had enough slack to fit. hopefully the remainder of the tubing will last a pretty long time.
