Default Coolant/crankcase issue.

Fired up my Z28 after recently finishing putting in a new 42k mile long block in it. Let it run/idle never even got to operating temp and found coolant in my crankcase. While it was out I regasketed everything new head bolts new intake/head gaskets etc. Torque down heads in 3 passes to 65ft lbs in the proper order. I have no oil in my radiator and all my coolant ended up in the block, radiator was dry. Could it be the heads are warped/cracked? Or the block? I almost positive it isn't my gaskets as there is no oil in my radiator..probably going to tear everything off tomorrow to have the heads checked..

Any info/ideas/insight?

Before I'd tear it back down, did you tear the engine completely down or just replace headgaskets? Are you using coolant? Have you psi tested the coolant system to verify your loosing coolant?

Heads could most definitely be cracked or warped. Slight possibility the block may be cracked around a water jacket as well.

How can I check aluminum heads for cracks? They can't be magnafluxed(SP?) right? I'm hoping one of the heads might just be warped..I have a set I know is good just need to swap one valve.

No they can't be magnafluxed, but they can be pressure tested at a machine shop.
