Default Tune question

Ok so I’m in the middle of engine rebuild, 355 LE H/C and the shop that is doing it wants to start the car with the stock tune on it? Is this a good idea??

If they can't tune it , I'd go mail order at the very least.

Sure they can start it. You should be able to drive it home also. BUT DO NOT GET DOWN ON IT until it's tuned.

I think the car is going to run like a$$, so I would rather wait for a tune than risk anything. The cam LE suggested was a donkey bumpstick 236/244

I'd be worried about a stock fuel injector setting on the stock tune more than anything.

And i am, im putting SVO red tops in it, with the stock tune its going to run the red tops @ the same duty cycle as the stock ones. But with the cam being what it is IDK if the cam would compensate for the extra fuel??

You'll not want to run the car with red tops and a stock injector pulse.

Last thing you want to happen is to dump all that fuel on those pretty new cylinder walls and rings.

Don't start it until you have the correct tune.

i agree 100%
but if you must take that risk, leave the factory injectors in it until the computer is set up for the larger ones. if not, you will wash out the rings and end up tearing it down for a fresh hone and a new set of rings (if it goes on long enough new bearings also)

The build is already taking too long! The last think I want is to rebuild it again.
