Default 95 Z: LS1 front end, wheels, and fresh paint (pics inside)

Been a while since I've had a chance to get on the LTX section but my bro and I were busy finishing up his car.

The car started out as a 95 Z28 with no mods but needed lots of work. We rescued it from the previous owner who had 22" wheels on it that required cutting the fenders and removing the inner fender liners....!!! Aside from that the hood was bondo'd to **** and had a black rattle can paint job. Interior was decent enough to keep but the seats and dash needed attention. After a few weeks of searching we found some Prostars and that's where it all started........."What do you think of painting it hugger orange with a Sunoco hood?"

Unfortunately the Sunoco hood didn't make it on the car for financial reasons but at some point that stocker is coming off. Everything was done the right way (stripping the car down to its shell then using as many OEM parts as possible for the LS1 parts conversion) and boy was it time consuming. End result was worth it though. Onto the pics!

95 Z28 A4:
Hugger Orange
LPP Longtubes
Stainless steel ORY w/ Magnaflow bullet (dumped)
MadZ Tune
LS1 lid
LS1 Front end conversion
Z06 wheels
blah, blah, blah...........

Original paint scheme was Purple lol. Here's a pic with Weld Prostars and drag radials.

I love that color. What prompted the ltx to lsx front swap? I've always been fond of the older style. Great looking conversion though!

We originally decided on going with the LTX front end and VFN raised SS hood but the car needed a new hood, fenders/liners, fog lights and paint....the availability of used OEM parts were more practical than trying to find some new/used LTX parts.

Oh and the LS1 lid swap looks way better than the LT1 CAI that was on there lol.

Fair play. Finding LTX exterior parts is a huge pain. I'm looking for some myself. And I agree, CAIs are ugly as hell; I'd like to swap over to ram air at some point.

Is it lt1 or did he put ls1 in it now, and what do you need to do the conversion , headlights, front bumper and fenders ? You bought the body pieces from GM? I like the ss spoiler I now want to do this on my car

Wow that thing looks like it rolled off the showroom floor with that front end. I like the LT1 look, BUT the LS1 front updates the car ALOT. You also have alot of lighting options, and you can run a functional lid with the SS hood.

Hugger orange, lt1 front, sunoco cowl hood, lid, prostars would have equaled sex. But still looks VERY nice.

^^^

I too prefer the LT1 front end. The car looked great in the first pic IMO, but still a very nice transformation. Hugger Orange will always look good.

i guess i can add in saying i prefer the ltx front end, but what do you expect in the ltx section? great work and it looks exactly like an authentic ls1 z28 which isn't a bad thing.

on a side note, how do you like the magnaflow bullet dumped off of the y-pipe? i'm trying to decide what stainless muffler i'm going to run in the same configuration. a sound clip maybe? pics?
