Default Need help on buddies 94 Z28

Lately for some reason his car is hard starting, it will sit there and crank for 4-6 seconds until it will fire. But if you hold the throttle down half way and then crank it, it will fire right away. What could cause this?

Info on the car:
94 LT1 A4 55K miles with LT's, LM1, !EGR, !AIR, !A/C. Newer Opti and MAF at the same time. Newer fuel pump.

We went to the track and I ran mid 13's while he could couldnt break the 14's? So we know something isnt right.

I am going with fouled spark plugs or maybe bad wires. Next maybe the opti and lastly the injectors.

Fuel pressure regulator? Hook a FP gauge to the rail at KOEO and see what you've got and if/ how fast it bleeds down. Also see if you've got fuel coming out of the vacuum line from the FPR to the intake. If you do, you're losing pressure and dumping fuel into the intake... loss of pressure to the injectors, fuel puddling and loss of power, etc.

Thanks we'll have to check that out, I was kinda leaning toward a possible injector problem.

we'll check these as well, i'm not sure how old the plugs are but the wires aren't too old cause he burnt a few on his headers.

I would be leaning towards a pressure regulator as well. But a weak fuel pump can cause issues like this too
