Yes one header is bbk. Not positive what the other side is. Realquick made them so he's the one to ask. My #7 spark plug wire isn't any better. It touches the header so I have a few heat blankets on it.

Have you thought about goin supercharger instead of turbo? Seems like it would be better suited for a 383.

Ok, I'll take the bait.

Why would he be better suited?

lol, it's not bait and i'm not trolling i swear. just an honest question. it always seemed to me that 383s made power and torque at lower rpms and weren't really a high rpm engine. to me that says blower, but that's why i'm asking.

I think I make max boost by 3500 area, so I think your theory is a little flawed.

well, thats why I asked. I'm just used to seeing turbos on 4 banger foreign junk that takes 7k rpms to make any boost, didn't know if they would be any better on a real engine.

So I have some interesting news. Went to MIR drag strip last night. I got there real late and only had enough time to make one run. This would be the first time using the trans brake so I was freaking out about spinning off the line and ruining the run. I do my burn out and pull up to the line. Activate the trans brake, put the pedal down, and it holds at 4k RPM building boost. Let go and it launches hard without spinning. It was a clean run so I pick up my time slip and says 10.8@127mph. I'm like what the heck? Same time last year except now I have a trans brake. Then all of a sudden I realize I forgot to turn my high boost setting on! My electronic boost controller was set to my low boost setting which is 10psi. My high boost setting is 17psi with meth. It's about a 150hp difference.

So I was bummed about making that mistake but at the same time a good comparison. I ran the same time with 150hp less and trans brake as I did last year with full boost foot braking it.... kind of interesting. Now I'm real anxious to go back and make a real run.

It's personal preference in my opinion. A supercharger or turbo will benefit any engine in different ways. I like the think my 383 has the torque to make up for turbo lag. Which I pretty much have no lag.

Nice run....sounds like traction may become an issue! What's your goal? Low 10's?

Mine, 383 turbo makes boost off the line, so much so that I busted my drive shaft at launch
