Default Question on balacers

If i removed every accessory from an LT1, is there anything making it so I need to run an LT1 balancer still, or can I move over to a standard SBC internal balanced unit? Thanks.

I'm not 100% sure, but if an LT1 specific dampener is needed, I have an LT1 Fluidampr I'd like to sell.....

Not sure a standard balancer will clear the optispark due to the extra thickness. As far as balance, it does not matter, both balancers are zero balance.

Yeah thats what I was afraid of, I was hoping to run an ATI unit, and was gonna try to get a dry sump drive integrated in the hub, but they dont offer that on LT1 hubs, but they do on SBC and LS hubs.

Yeah, I decided to go that route, I did it so I can sling my turbo wherever I want without having to worry as much about gravity draining, also to help keep the crankcase at a vacuum at all times to keep the rings and cylinders in better shape for longer. And the flat bottom pan so I can split off my 5" downpipe into dual 3 or 3.5" and run it more easily.

It's a good idea, but based on my past experience with an oval track car, the normal dry sump pump location will be just about where the steering column and steering rack meet up. How are you going to work around that?

It wont interfere, I have a BMR turbo K member, it has modified engine mounts. they allow for increased room. and I have a Barnes 5 Stage, the depth is like 7" I want to say. and the steering rack is like 8-9? I cant remember, but I do remember there is about 1-1.5" of extra room there. And depending on where I mount the drive it may move even further forward. so, kinda playing with it all, and thats part of why I was wondering about mounting options.
