Check for arcing in the wires especially around the coil.

Is it a continuous miss like a rev limiter or missing here and there above 5k? Could be Opti or maybe coil. How old are the plugs?

Are the wires snapped snug on all the plugs and on the opti terminals? Are the wires touching anything hot? Did you gap them properly? Maybe you broke a plug and you didn't know it?

I'd double check all of that, even double check the plugs too to rule out all of that. It took me a couple hours to route all my new wires away from anything hot. Then I'd look at the coil and ICM.

No offense your talking in slang, but did you say you replaced the cap in the opti?

If it's smooth and starts missing at those rpm levels I would suspect the rotor screws in the opti are coming loose. I had that same problem, opened up the opti and found this:

BTW... it's rpm. Not rpms.

I just put new plugs in and didn't run them but maybe 10 miles after my motor build !! So i guess the nexted step is to buy new plugs and have icm and coil checked rite or am I missing something? Would a vacuum leak cause a miss over 5000 rpm now since I change all the stuff out its a hit and miss now between 1st and 2nd does it maybe once or twice win trany shifts between 2nd and 3rd that's win it really starts doin it if u guys have nemore suggestions let me no thanks!!!
