i looked for a topic on this but i couldnt really find one for an LT1. i know ive heard some people are opposed to them, this isnt the thread for that though.

im looking for some good quality underdrive pulleys, i cant really find anything on jegs, or summit, idk why, but any suggestions? also what is my expected gain you think? (the engine is stock only thing ive done is the flowmaster muffler cat delete system)

I wouldn't waste my $$ on a piggy back system, then again if you're stock money could be spent elsewhere for bigger gains.

It's not that people are opposed to them; its that most people think that the money could be put else where for a lot more gain....

Most vehicles have a belt driven waterpump which is quite power hungry. Underdriving it along with everything else certainly frees up power. With the LT1 though the waterpump not being belt driven this reduces the potential gains.

Most of us see a .1 improvement at the track removing the serpentine belt entirely. Stands to reason that at best you would then see a .023 gain from a 23% underdrive. If you need a new damper anyway though it might be a good opportunity to get a little extra gain from a "repair".

I would look at valvesprings and 1.6 rockers LONG before this.

The ASP 945103 set is what I recommend and have ran for several years. The dampner knocks 2-3 pounds off the crank snout and has been dyno proven for a 5-6 rwhp gain.

it all adds up I want to do them to but im looking at the cheaper bigger gains first or to save a lil bit longer to get mid pricey stuff then that , IM lookin at headers ,jegs xpipe, then elec water pump , some 1.6rr , tq converter , 3.73s, ls1 driveshaft, then the pulleys and hypertech
