Default What CHEAP mods can I get to finish bolt ons?

I have a 97 LT1 Ram Air Trans Am with no spare or jack, 95 PCM with custom tune, 1.6RR, EWP, LE2 cam, LPP Long tube headers and True duals, 3200 stall, 3.42s. Ready to install; LCAs and LCArs, PHB. DRs, SFCs already planned. I am thinking of a 52mm TB, impala head gaskets while cleaning up the heads and maybe a valve job, and that worthless airfoil. Maybe a ported intake and 58mm but I doubt it.

Get rid of the spare tire and jack. Thats good for some weight. Also re-locate the battery to the back. If your doing the impala head gaskets, you might as well mess with the heads while they are off (home port or local shop if your on a budget). Most tb's bigger than stock have air foils built in.

Up your Stall and Gear that will help a lot

LS1 lid also a pretty good bang for your buck mod

I wouldn't take the heads of for a bump of compression not worth the hassle IMO unless they are already off for some other reason as well.

Well I was thinking about a valve job and some cleaning up on the heads. Nothing special.

I already have ram air, so a lid is a waste. I have another intake idea anyway...

And upping my stall is a $700+ venture.
Gears are similar price.

O plan on doing them, but doubtful tbis year.

Look at Edge stalls they are cheaper and mine is nice. still a 550 dollar mod but better the 700 I suppose. Gears 700

Mystery on here has home ported heads and so Do I he has track numbers and hopefully soon i'll have some AI or LE are not the only one making LT1's fast

I asked about cheap bolt on parts. $500+ is not cheap. I'm thinking <$250 mods.

You could buy an aluminum driveshaft to replace the steel stocker, that will make the car quicker and only costs about $150-$250 depending on the brand. Buy Tunercat and you can fine tune the PCM for more HP. Add n2o and youll pickup a second for $500 thats the "bang for the buck".

You could get the 1LE rubber intake bellow or one from Jegs...the 1LE bellow has the silencer removed for less turbulent airflow and more intake noise. Also cheaper than most bolt-ons.

Ram Air intake> 1le elbow.

No nitrous.

Maybe I'll finish off my tune, do a couple of the things I posted and work on traction...

Good advice here, I hear Hod Rod magazine highly recommends this mod: 24 hp and 28.7 lb-ft of torque over the stock numbers and nearly 50HP on the bottom end! Not shitting you. LOL

If my eyes don't deceive me it doesn't look like you have a CAI? Might help you out a little bit.

The two items on my car that netted the most in the 1/4 were tires and a high stall converter, not cheapest though. You could always find some good used parts from good people.
