If you pull the engine and turn it upside down you can change the crank. Have to remove the oil pan, timing cover, and take your time. Would save you the intake set and head gaskets, but it will cost you in time as you have to protect the new crank from all the rod bolts. And work the rod/piston up and down without damaging something.

Before you do something rash, have a look at what happened to the crank nose. You may be able to repair it in the car. Pull the balancer and hub and look the crank over. See if the bolt broke or if it's intact. You may be able to buy a new hub and make it work. When you get it off send some pictures and if you have a way, measure it.

Did you at least beat the mustang? I know how you feel I just finished my le1 355 build and I am thinking I have a spun bearing with less than 100mi on the engine; my oil looks like it has glitter in it.

Why didn't you install a keyed hub? Pretty common practice with a performance build.

Sure. Anything is possible. Just don't count on the engine lasting all that long. How did it just spin off the crank? Was the crank hub bolt present when this happened? How is it the crank is shot?

Get a new hub and see how loose it is. Let us know. You can fix it if it is not too bad. Don't panic.

if ya throw a new crank in it and dont balance it your gonna have problems . at all aspects of it . i know it sucks but pull it and build it again , like said before for the cheap insurance have the crank and hub machined for a key lol
