Default Good way to build 96 lt1 up???!

I just blew a head gasket the other day I am now taking the motor out and I wanted to put a cam in it the whole motor is stock so was wondering what would be the best route to go.

I'm pretty much in the same boat with a 96 lt1 with what appears to be a leaking headgasket.

1k won't get you far. Probably all the bolt ons and a tune. I would do the hotcam kit if you can splurge a little more. It's not terrible and it sees good gains on stock to bolt on cars. You'll enjoy it especially if your used to a stock car.

Hot cam was designed to work with the stock heads, You will use the lt4 springs and rockers. I would also get new pushrods as well. If your car blew a head gasket its good to have the heads checked out to make sure there not warped or cracked anywhere. For the buget you have the lt4 kit is a great way to go.

The should run om without a tune but I would get one anyway to get the most out of the set up. I love www.lt1pcmtuning.com Solomon is a great guy and will do a fantastic job. I use him to do all my new engine times then I go to my buddys dyno to dial it in perfect.
