code 43. icm problem, cant figure out

Default code 43. icm problem, cant figure out

i had an icm go bad. i did the washer, cooling mod. had another one go bad. zip tied the icm to the abs block. had another one go bad. bolted the heat sink back on and re zip tied to the abs block. now, another has gone bad. can anyone figure this out?

Are you using heat sink paste? Are you using your years specific icm part #'s?

Code 43 is a knock sensor problem.

Should be easy to figure out. What coil are you using? Any other mods to the ignition circuit? Are you sure it's an ICM problem?

the description is esc circuit. i thought that included the icm. the knock sensor a few weeks old, acdelco.

im using an msd coil. the pigtails to the coil and icm are all new

I thought a 43 was a knock sensor code as well. I ohm it and make sure its with in spec.

What MSD coil? What's the part number? Or a link to it.

42 is ICM
43 is knock sensor. make sure your exhaust didn't burn through the wiring.

43 has nothing to do with the ICM. If you have been changing your ICM just because of this code, you are wasting a lot of money.

the car kept cutting out at high rpm and dieing in traffic. i had a spare with me and the car ran. had this happen a few times. i just now got this code. car still runs fine tho. ill check my knock sensor wiring
