Default LS1 Rear swap question

Can i simply take the backing plates off of my 93 z28 and swap them to an LS1 rear end so i dont have to worry about changing over the brake compenents? I have everything i beleive to make the swap but honestly cant justify it. Any information would be a huge help. THanks.

Yea... But swapping to the ls1 brakes is a common upgrade.. Don't be lazy you'll wish you did it in another 100 posts

You can reuse the smaller Lt1 brakes however the larger Ls1 brakes will work better not only in driving since the e-brake design is much better.
Big brakes are where its at...... Do you have the front Ls1 brakes aswell?

Besides the different design with the parkiing brake there is no advantage to the rear LS1setup. Unless you have drums in the rear or a manual to take advantage of the parking brake i would say its not worth it. Im pretty sure all you need to do is swap backing plates.

The fronts, yes, big time upgrade as far as LS1 over LT1 brakes go. i did it to my car. worth it

I want this to be as simple as possible. Iv got a complete LS1 rear end with brakes, cables the whole thing. I want the car to be driveable again as simple as possible. The less i have to swap the better.

Then, it is a no-brainer. Swap the whole thing in.
