Default 24X Kit for the Street Car / WS6

Well, the new opti died today in my dialy LT1 WS6, after 3,000 miles of highway use. Needless to say i'm tired of dealing with these issues, thats why the race car has a Jessel Belt Drive Distributor instead of an Opti.

The EFI 24X DIY kit showed up today, the only other things i ordered were LS1 custom length plug wires and a LS1 pcm tray.

All in all $1400.00, but money well spent for a reliable 400rwhp/ 28mph daily driver.

Install next weekend, dyno numbers to follow

I just recently finished doing mine. I bought the harness though as my original harness had seen better days.

I love it haha.

I also see 28mpg on the highway

I am ahead of the game; I have all of my efi stuff installed already. I am going to take my pcm to CMS tomorrow for a base tune; then as soon as I get it filled with H2O and oil I am going to tow it down to CMS for a dyno tune. Are you going to repin your harness yourself; this is the cheapest option and not really that difficult to do. Hope hour install goes as smoothly as mine did. It's finally going to be fun to drive a modded lt1; I will no longer have nightmares about optsparks falling apart.

On the same note though, you can't honestly argue that coil on/near plug isn't superior technology, that's why ford, gm and chrysler have been using it since the late 90's.... just sayin....

Is that everything in the picture that's included? If so I can't see $1400 worth of stuff there. Please tell me I'm wrong.

Me either and had the original 93 on for 14yrs. Switched to a brand new vented AC delco unit and less than 1K miles it took a no notice dump. Didn't even bother to get another unit and switched to a hybrid EFI style setup w/ crank trigger. It happens even on new units...seen some take a dump w/ 10 miles or less and installed correctly to boot.

BTW, OP nice choice!

1245.00 for the 24X kit, 137.00 for LS1 plug wires custom length, 35.00 for a ls1 pcm tray..

Its only money, you make more and you spend more.

Its worth its weight in gold.

The difference in how the car pulls up top is tremendous. I was never able to pull past 5800 without some kind of miss or hesistation.

Had it up to 6800rpm today without issue
