sounds like possibly a mixture of oil and a shitty clamp.

If your getting to much motor movement I could see the cai parts working loose.. Maybe your motor mounts are worn out, then again maybe it's the opti ..

I kinda had that problem, have someone stand at the top and hold down while you push up on the filter to make sure it goes over the lip then tighten the **** outa the clamp..

I had the same problem a while ago, the intake tube actually colapsed some how which made the diameter smaller and the filter fell off. I got the heat gun out and reshaped the colapsed part of the intake tube. After that I had no issues, just make sure you get the filter up on the pipe as far as you can.

Are you getting any backfiring? The combination of no lip and a solid backfire could sure knock your filter off.

I am wondering if you're tightening the clamp too much and causing the tube to buckle.

This isn't uncommon actually, I have heard of a few people having their filter fall off. I had the same kit at one time, and I was concerned about it myself, but it luckily didn't fall off.

I doubt it. I got sick of dealing with it so I got rid. The whole thing. Right now it has the stock filter. I want to move to a ram air hood anyways, may as well wait and make it functional...

I bet the mounts are letting the filter move and the filter is getting caught on the hole and pulling off. If that's not it then it must not be installed correct.

Just u...tighten the clamp with more than a screw driver, and put a self taping screw in it.
