Default 3-Point Subframe Connectors

for a car that is street driven and occasional drag are the 3 point really worth the extra 150$?

I personally do not think so. A typical 2-point boxed design is just fine. I've heard that using the double diamonds makes jacking up the car a PITA.

I have the 3-points on my car (UMI). Jacking up is no problem, and they tuck away really nicely. As to performance, I can't say that I notice any difference over friends that have the two points.

They are a bit of a pain to install, but sure do look nice when they are down and welded in...

i think they work really well with a tunnel mounted torque arm since it basically bolts your torque arm to the frame of the car

I like my 3 point SFCs. It feels alot stiffer than my friends car with 2 point SFCs. He noticed the difference when he was in my car also. The only reason jacking my car up is a PITA is because it is so low.

My buddy's car has 3 points and jacking up the car is no problem at all. Worth the extra $150? Probably not, IMO.

I am just trying to justify the near $300 for the 3 point, but i think i am just going to go with tubular 2 point. right know any thing will be a vast improvement since i haven't had them since i bought the car in 06

I've had both and the SLP welded 3 point definately made the car stiffer than the two point but they all help especially on a t-top car. But i like the stiffer feel of the 3 pt sfcs over the 2pt but that's my opinion.

boxed tubing is good for drag since the extreme loads are always the same in the same direction and you can build your suspension accordingly. round tube is better in my opinion b/c no matter which angle the stress is applied there are no weaker points. this isn't true for boxed.

As for the question is a 3pt worth the extra $300.00 Well for your needs and power level and how you will be driving your car, no. Not to me anyhow
