Default What is this and what does it do?

I would like to dress up my engine bay on my 1995 TA and wasn't sure what this part does (circled in red)? this is not my engine but it shows this part well and after looking at different LT1 engine bays many have already deleted this. Looking for ideas on how to dress this part up or what it takes to delete it all together? If I paint this how hot does it get? Thanks

I'm guessing your talking about the fitting on top of the exhaust manifold, and the not the header its self. Its part of the AIR system, part of emissions. I deleted mine when I got long tube headers with no emissions. Not sure what you could do to dress it up tho. perhaps someone else will chime in, I helped a little lol

That's your driver side exhaust manifold and emissions that go along with it. Headers with solve that problem plus add some sound and a few ponies to boot.

yeah heat shield. There just ugly cast iron manifolds under it. Removing them wouldnt really dress anything up IMO.

thought about making a SS mirrored cover to drop over it while I'm at the car shows to dress up the manifold? I tried painting it with high temp. paint but it won't last or look good, Probably just paint it black to hide it until I can get headers or something?
