If it were me, and i had to run a cat for emissions....If i had access to welders or people who can give me a hook up on welding, I would put the cutout where the cat is. Its a single cat system right? Then i would move the cat farther back on the I pipe.

i have a welder, i know how to weld so im good there. single cat. the cat is welded to the y pipe it came like that. would it be possible to put cutouts on the y pipe, or would it be to close to manifolds?

Id like to know the same thing. I would like to run to cutouts on each side on the y as far back as possible but not sure if that is far enough from the 02's

You can do what I did. I put a 3 bolt flange on my I pipe. When I go race I disconnect the flange and remove my exhaust from there back. I also have a round bullet muffler that I attach to the end to keep noise at bay. I lose about 35lbs that way when I go to the track. So I get maybe a few hp's if any but its the weight reduction I go for.

i would personally put em as far away from the exhaust tips as possible and close to the headers. To me thats kinda the whole point of cutouts, to ditch the whole noise canceling/emisions/mufflers/cats crap, while still having the option to silence it at any time. But thats just me

do a search, if you look you will see that the majority of the people locate it under the passenger seat area..there is a spot under the car that hold it perfectly..

But if you put one on each side of the y pipe how far away from the o2's do they need to be?

I don't have headers though, I have just a highflow y pipe connected to a cat. Can I put the cutout on the y pipe that travels way up to the manifolds before the cat or would that be goofy?

Hmm if I were you I wouldnt worry about doing a cut out. You already have a nice exhaust setup. I'd look to do long tubes. If your set on doing it put it before the cat. Normal driving its gonna sound like @ss and make your interior rattle.
