Default lt1 timing chain sugestions

the stock replacement from gm is like 250... is there anything else i can do that is cheaper... i dont wanna spend 250 on a stinkin chain and gears.... i have a stretched chain that needs replacement.... so im guessing i need gears and all... part numbers would help

A stock replacement chain and sprockets should be about half that. What part numbers are you looking at, and where are you sourcing them from? Check www.shbox.com for the correct p/ns.

Don't forget that you need to change the sprockets too. Doesn't make sense to put a new chain on worn sprockets.

10206039- 41-cam
10128346- 30-crank
10128485- 33-chain

are those right? i dont know why the set is 2ce as expensive as buying it seperately

If you need the spline drive opti style, Lunati makes one. It is just over $100, but it is not a roller chain. I ordered one for my build and took a look at it. It is a heavy-duty piece but I then went with a double roller and a vented opti.

Everybody freaks out about LT1 timing chain slack, and basically nobody actually has a real problem.

im not sure what the difference is between a roller vs non roller chain... but i like the looks of that lunati over the cloyes cause its lt specific

What does that mean?

The Lunati 93094 looks just like a GM stock set. It even has the GM number on the cam gear. But that won't fit your car, if it is a 1995. The Cloyes 3039 will.
