Question Throttle Body Spacer and a ?

I was wondering if the throttle body spacers actually work? Will this along with a cleaning add a couple hp or mpg?

On a side question, my car engine does a rumbling sound at about 1200rpm then stops once it goes higher, my mechanic told me that the mounts seem fine, do you guys have any idea of what it could be?

All input is appreciated!!

throttle body spacers on the LT1 cars are as useful as a screen door on a submarine....

i actually used a TB spacer with the spiral bore on my TBI 93 truck... it actually worked. only because on the TBI engines it helps the mixture as well which helps airflow get into the intake manifold..

on our cars.. no..

There are a LOT of junk products made for no reason other than to take people's money.

The only useful TB spacer on an LT1 would be one that has nitrous spraybar in it, and then it is not useful NA only when it has nitrous flowing.

A throttle body airfoil is about the only thing that can be added to improve airflow on the stock TB (other than CAI or high-flow elbow)...they are cheap ($30-50), but only worth 2-3 HP if that. Coolant bypass mod on the TB is worth it however. Get a cold air intake if you want noticeable power and mileage improvements if you don't have one already.

Spacers are only useful on a single plane intake, and wont help on our stock one.

A spacer will do nothing but add surface area and slightly heat soak your LT1.

It would also leave less room to put on the intake elbow.
