Need Some Help Plz....
Im A relativly new LT1 owner most of my knowledge is old school chevy motors. I want to build it but not sure where to start or what parts would work the best. There is nobody around me that can tune lt1 either so im kinda on my own any advice??? Currently The car has a leightweight timing gear set Accel Perfomance Optispark Cold air intake and it had an slp loudmouth that sounded like **** after a month i just put a flowmaster 40 series on it to quiet it down. Any help is appreciated.. thanks

the GEN 1's and GEN 2's are quite similar other than the opti spark, cam driven water pump and reverse cooling flow motor......other than that lot of gen 1 and gen 2 parts swap......you can run gen 1 heads on a gen 2 motor also without alot of changes....

Budget and Goals?
Building the LT1 from the mechanical sides of things is IDENTICAL to a SBC so if you can build a SBC you can build an LT1. Then comes some minor things when you get out from the bottom end.....Timing cover is different, Heads are different (Reverse cooling) and of course the tuning is way different. once we all know your goals your budget and what your doing with the car we can all take a stab at steering you in the right direction

I live in Tennessee About an hour from Chattanooga and An hour and a half from hunstville Alabama. As far as budget pretty well Not one because im building it a litle at a time during the winter i have a daily driver so its not like i have to have it right away. I mainly am building it because my friend says that his ls1 cant be touched by an lt1 which is crap because he only runs 7.7 in 1/8. And i ran a 9.8 on street tires.

Im lookin at a cam still not sure what duration or anything im gonna go with. I think i have a 3500 stall lined up as well as a set of longtubes. I just orderd a set of 3.73s but i may change my mind and go with a ford 9 inch but i cant seem to find anybody here that can tune it when i do swap the cam in it.

Moe on here does Mail orders
If you plan on doing anything in the future with the car working from the back to the front is the way to go for sure........I did it backwards with my car and ended up being a bad thing. Suspension, Rear end, Tranny, Then bolt ons and a cam only car should net you CLOSE to the 7.7's

Both of them do excellent work from what I hear on here no personal experience with them so not going to vouch for either one in a pissing match of which is better but you have the right idea you need to get your times down now as they are because they seem ULTRA slow even for a stock car
