is gasket port matching worth it?
just wondering if a simple gasket match port job is worth it on my stock heads, got them back from the machine shop today all cleaned up, valve job done with new comp behives installed. threw an intake gasket on and saw they can be opend up quite a bit, what are the gains usually seen with simple porthing like this?
motor is bored .020 over, stock bottom, heads milled .015 and a 292/300 cam

Doing an exact gasket match is a bad thing on stock heads, just search some things on home ported heads and see what they say about gasket matching.
You will gain the most from a home port job by testing on another set of heads to properly contour cuts and use your tools. Learn to message the bowl and around the valve guides for big gains on a test set.
You dont want to be running a carbide bit around fresh valve seats on your first set you port. That bit will want to jump or you run the chance of taking those shorty carbides deep enough to reach in the port then bump the seats with the grinder chuck

you guys think he would do a port only job for me since i already have new springs ect, valve job is done and the heads are spotless?
ill do some research on bowl blending aswell.

If your valve job was done with stones and not on a machine that cuts the 3angles all at one you/he will want to redo them.. It complements his port work..

Yep , he will... I already had springs valves and all hardware too... He milled them , did valve job, ported em' , cleaned them & shipped em' back for $650.... Idk if that's normal price, I do think he cut a lil deal for me... But .. Yea
