If you have no other mods like heads/cam don't waist your money on a throttle body.

I would go LPE cause its cheap and easy, but if your not afraid of cutting you can do an ls1 lid swap. For exaust long tubes are the best if you dont have a sniffer for smog a cat back is nice but if you want performance just get a cutout. The aftermarket throttle bodies are a waste of money you wont see any real gains.

I would go with the ls1 lid swap. Cheap and pretty easy. If not, get a used k&n or something off here. Save on the throttle body for now and get a mail order tune. For exhaust I would do long tube header and off road Y if you can where your at, then run to a magnaflow out back. Sounds fantastic.

A lid setup is more expensive than a bolt-on CAI and requires some cutting and trimming of non-stock parts. For the OP I think a typical CAI is more ideal.

Moroso cold air, and a tsp rumbler catback. That's what you're looking for OP.
And don't bother with the throttle body…yet

For an exhaust I would spend sometime on You tube and in any place that has sound clips of what they sound like. Plan ahead too. I did an SLP loud mouth at fist and it sounded great.....until I put long tubes on and an ORY. Then it was a mess. could not drive for more then 30min with out getting a head ach. I did a borla adjustable and installed an electric cut out where the restrictor plates would go. I love it now. I can keep it some what manageable and then just open the cut out with a flick of a switch and let all hell break loose.

^Great point.

The rumbler is deep enough and I love it with my longetubes. It sounds like z28animal is looking for the basics right now. Check out the stickies and search for your first mods.

Lingenfelter Supertube (or LPE for short) is the CAI I have. Cheap (like 180ish shipped), and they have dyno proven results of 12 rwhp gains. As for a catback, just listen to a few sound clips and pick the one you like. Personally, if you have to keep the cats in your area, just take the damn muffler off. Sounds great, its free/cheap, and there is nothing less restrictive than straight pipes. But if you plan on taking the cat off, definitely get a muffler of some sort. I'm running true straight pipes right now (cat clogged up and I gutted it) and its just too damn loud with no real tone. Sounds great when you are in the pedal, but it sounds shitty when your not. Leave the throttle body alone for now. The stock one is plenty for even most heads/cam cars. Next, shed some weight off that bitch and get some gears. Headers, etc etc. It'll add up.

Buy a used Moroso or K&N from eBay. I got my Moroso for $60 and recharged the filter. It's better than paying $200+ for some plastic tubing and a dinky filter.
